Well I have safely arrived in Hong Kong. The large leg of my journey is now complete (around 11 hours from Alaska to HK). This will be short, since it is from a public terminal. I'll be writing real blog entries on my laptop, which I will then post once I'm settled in Malaysia.
Now, I just have to find something to do for 7 or so hours. I think I'll have some food.
P.S. Happy birthday Joel (I am unable to get the pay-phones here to work with my calling card).

Happy Belated Birthday, which it is for you now :(
Have a safe trip the rest of the way, after your looooooong lay over in Hong Kong.
Dad
Yeah I guess it would. I kind of slept from Manitoba to Alaska. And then was asleep shortly after take-off.
But in the intrest of true 25th anniversary, I'll have sushi in 3 hours for lunch. Should be at about the right time.
Is it just me, or are airports extremely boring? I'm in one of the newst an most modern airports and I'm still bored out of my mind. And getting sleepy again.
Well if you can hang in there, there is the sushi you promised yourself.
Dad
PS Your precise 25th birthday is in 1.5 hours from when I'm posting this ,well to within several minutes anyway :)
Well I just finished my birthday meal. I did indeed have sushi and Asahi beer. And technically I won't have to pay for it, Mike will. :)
That a boy - Happy Belated Birthday Ryan. Hope that you find something to occupy your time in Hong Kong by yourself. It would be nice to be able to sit and chat to someone wouldn't it??
We are looking forward to a phone call from you when you reach Paneng.
It does sound like a tedious journey but then you're not exactly excited about your destination !!
Hope you had a great non-birthday .
I'm sure once you get to work the month will pass quickly . I don't much like your choice of a celebratory meal---sushi !! What's wrong with steak ?
Safe Landing
Grandma
Happy Belated Birthday, from George and Carolyn!
