The End is Near

Well we are finally coming close to the end of this long 7 month stay in Arizona. The family is all in bed, preparing for their flight back to Canada tomorrow mid-day. In a few short days I will be following them (well with the side trip to Malaysia).

Normally one would think that I would be dying to go. However, you all may know that I really don't like moving. As strange as that may be for someone who has gone through co-op at UW and was forced to move every 4 months. When it comes down to it I really don't like having to pack up all my belongings into boxes just to have to pull them out again shortly there after. I think that the unexpected change of departure date may also be having an adverse effect on my readiness to leave. It was all worked out in my mind for departing on the 9th of December. But now I'm leaving on the 3rd of November, but not to home. Needless to say, it will be a busy couple days sorting out both my departure from Arizona, but also my trip to Malaysia.

Good-byes are never easy, and I have met a few good friends down here that will be missed. I could go ahead and say "bye, I'm never coming back", to quote Adam, but I know as long as I am at PEER Group and working on this project I'll find myself back in the desert sooner or later. So instead I'll see you all later.

It is currently 8:20am and the family is scheduled to leave in just under 4 hours (should be at the airport in around 2 hours).

Wait a second, what kind of math was I doing there? They should be boarding in about 5:15 hours, and be at the airport by just after noon.

Also if you would like to track their flight you can do so here.

Ok, I keep coming back to see what the progress is....and I have to tell you...
"the end is near"?
I keep expecting to see someone in sackcloth and ashes...
Cut it out! :)
Looking forward to seeing you, even if you will already be a Quarter of a Century old!

I'm not sure I like this "the end is near" terminology !! I wouldn't like the travelling around either but you are MUCH younger !! At least younger than you will be in a few days even if you miss your birthday !! I will be thinking about you on Nov. 4th as you skip past your birthday . Maybe a celebration could be planned when you get back to Canada. Don't be too stressed out on your flight . See you at Christmas.
Love Grandma

The "end is near" is a good thing. The end of the desert; the end of being away. All good things. Sure maybe the title may be a little misleading though.

Thanks--that clarifies the whole phrase !!! BUT I'll not be using it in reference to myself !!

Ok, so now I have Frank Sinatra in my head:

"the end is near-bla bla, bla bla bla"

Fortuately, you can't hear me sing. ;)
