Leeuwenburg in Canada

This past weekend the Leeuwenburg family celebrated 50 years since they first immigrated to Canada from the Netherlands. So to mark the occasion the family had a big party at Joy's parent's house. The day was full of food, fun, and a bit of water.

Many photos were taken, 362 by me alone, I have done a very quick pass of the pictures and uploaded a few (almost 30) into my Picasa Web Album. Below you'll find a couple of them linked directly.

Pay-back against Gerard

All the descendants and loved ones

On Sunday a bunch of us (Fred, Gerard, Reuben, Tanya, Joy, and I) got up bright and early for a round of golf at Whisky Run golf course in Port Colborne. Gerard ended up with the best score, but everyone had a great time. Thanks goes to Jenneke (Joy's mom) for looking after Gerard & Tanya's herd of children, which allowed us all to go golfing.

For someone who doesn't take many people pictures, these ones turned out beautifully. They are all superb; well-exposed with good composition, but more importantly, they provide a glimpse into the character of the subject. Well done. I especially like the photo of Jackson.

Thank you very much George, I really appriciate the complement. I hope that I can continue the trend in the future.

Jackson sure does have amazing eyes.

Is Ellora saluting you... oh, its a chip she is holding. Could have taken it for some other gesture.
The pictures are great and I did check out the ones on your album too. It is great to see people in your pictures.

I hadn't even noticed Ellora's gesture. ;)

They are great photos. I think the one of Gerard getting the bucket of water is my favourite. The only question I have is: who was behind that bucket?

There is a bit of a story behind that photo. Pretty well during the whole "water-fight" time period Gerard was walking around and spraying people's pants (you can use your imagination as to where). So eventually Reuben decided to get a bit of revenge.

The shots of Jackson and Jake are my favorites. It's all about the eyes and the shadows. What a great bunch of people to let you take photos all day.

Half your comments are from yourself. Is this how you increase your comment count?

Of course the best way to have a high comment count is to reply to everyone's comment, thereby doubling the comments. :)
